The Future of Public Services Discussed in Samarkand

The event was organized by the DPIDG Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the UN E-Government Research Institute (UNU-EGOV), and the Center for Managing Digital Government Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The following issues were discussed at the seminar:

• Modern technologies in public services: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Big Data, and Cloud technologies;
• Expanding citizen participation and improving service quality;
• Governance based on human-centered design, participatory approaches, and ethical criteria.

Participants noted that the implementation of modern technologies is not just about technical innovations, but about creating a completely new model of public services, primarily focused on the needs of citizens.
