The migration and personalization sector will be digitalized

According to the decision, starting February 1, 2026, when individuals apply for an ID card for the first time, they will be issued a digital signature certificate (Electronic Digital Signature – EDS) free of charge, which will be recorded on the chip of the ID card.

The Department is the authorized body responsible for creating and continuously updating the following central databases of individuals:

  • Information about the registered residential and temporary addresses of foreign citizens, stateless persons, and citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • Information about the series and number of the ID card, the place of issuance, the date of issuance, and the expiration date;
  • Information about citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • Information about citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan;
  • Information about foreigners and stateless persons invited to Uzbekistan, as well as the extension of their visas.

Starting September 1, 2026, through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services (my.gov.uz) and Public Service Centers, it will be possible to access the following services:

  • Inviting compatriots living abroad and their family members to Uzbekistan;
  • Submitting an application for a biometric travel document by stateless persons.
